Our main fundraiser in 2015 will be our Fall Festival & Fun Run. It will be a fun and exciting event for all students, families, staff and our community! Our hope with this fundraiser is to raise enough money to be able to fully fund field trips for all grades, purchase a field day t-shirt for all students and be able to pay for and donate 10 iPads to the school.  And, our students will have a wonderful 9-day character building experience.  ​

Fun Run Highlights
  • Hosting a Fun Run means there is no selling or delivering products, and it reinforces the value of fitness.
  • To make our fundraising significantly easier and more fun, we have asked the experts at Boosterthon to power the entire 9-day program. Boosterthon has been organizing Fun Runs for 13 years and is partnering with 1600 other schools across America this year. Their amazing team coordinates all the details and logistics of the run, allowing us to better focus on character building and having fun.
  • Regardless of financial participation, every student is invited to participate in the entire fun run program.
  • Three challenges offered during the run:
    • $10000 Challenge:  If the PTA raises $10,000, each student in the school will receive an extra recess.
    • $15000 Challenge:  If the PTA raises $15,000, each student in the school will receive an extra recess AND the PTA will donate 10 iPads to the school.
    • 50 state Challenge:  Each student who receives a donation from any state other than Texas or any other country will get their name into a drawing to win a $50.00 gift card to Toys R Us.
    • Weekend Challenge:  Each student that receives three pledges during the weekend of October 16-18, 2015 will get their name into a drawing to win a $25.00 gift certificate to the fall book fair next month.  We will give away two gift certificates.  If a student does not have access to the internet, no problem, the PTA can come around to each class and collect cash or check donations.
  • You will see info in the Boosterthon material that goes home with your child regarding individual prizes and per lap pledging. We are opting out of those aspects of the Boosterthon program to comply with PISD policies. Our program is focusing on working as a team within your child's classroom. Each class has goals set and is learning about the value of playing with Character through the Big World Recess character program.
  • We are not offering the free prize to a student when they register at funrun.com because we do not want any child to be left out if they did not have access to the internet.  
  • Great Shoe Takeoff challenge : Since we are not accepting per lap donations but rather flat donations, Boosterthon will donate a pair of shoes for each class that raises $900. The shoes will be donated to underprivileged children all over the world. Additional pairs of shoes will be donated for every $900 increment ($900 - one pair, $1800 - 2 pairs, ... etc.)
  • Third, if you have students who receive pledges by cash or check, that is not a problem at all! McCall PTA will visit each classroom to collect those pledges and enter them into the funrun.com website manually so the student gets credit for that pledge. We do not want any student left out!

How to Sign Up and Donate
  • Visit funrun.com and click "PARENT & TEACHER SIGN UP" and enter your information (Parent email address, name, and birth date.)
  • Register your child's information. Use the access code 274-622 or use "Search for your school" to look for McCall Elementary.
  • After your child is registered, start entering donations from yourself, relatives, and friends!
  • You can pay online as soon as you enter a pledge. 
  • Do not go door to door to solicit donations! The funrun.com pledge system is designed to share online and ask friends and family to give donations that add up to help our school.

Each class will be working toward class goals where they can earn special Team rewards, plus the Class Goal prizes!

The McCall Fall Festival will begin immediately following the Boosterthon Fun Run. Bring the whole family for food and lots of fun!

  • McCall PTA will be selling wrist bands for $10.00 for purchase at the festival. The price for the wrist band includes face painting, cake walk, cotton candy and unlimited fun in the bounce houses.

Fall Festival & Fun Run Schedule

October 13th - Pep Rally Day
  • Boosterthon will be on campus to hold a high energy pep rally during afternoon assembly.
  • They will introduce the character experience BIG WORLD RECESS and pass out pledge books.

October 14th - 23rd - Team Days
  • Students will hear an announcement and watch a video which promotes a character lesson.
  • Be sure to ask your child what they learned about each day!

October 24th Fun Run and Fall Festival
  • The Fun Run will kick off at 4:00 pm followed by a fun filled Fall Festival.
  • Please come out to the back field at our school at 3:45 pm to cheer us on and join in the fun!
  • Wear your Halloween Costume for the Fun Run and Fall Festival! Please ensure your costume is safe for running, and you can see and breath if there is a mask involved!
  • We welcome all families and community members to cheer on the students of McCall during the run and stay to enjoy the festival.
