What is the Student PTA about?
Most importantly it is about giving back and having fun! We are about improving our school, and the community around us!
Welcome McCall student PTA members! We are so glad you joined us and know what a BIG difference you can make here at McCall. By participating in the PTA you will be putting your skills and talents to work. YOU will be making a positive impact on your school and community. I know you all have big hearts and creative ideas. Together, you will all help make McCall the best it can be! I am so excited for you and know it will be a terrific year!

Our Mission

2017-2018 Goals
- Gain at least 75 members.
- Donate at least 200 service hours as a group during the school year.
- Create a Student Board with 4 members from 5th grade. (Positions; President, Vice President, Memberships, and Ways and Means).
- Come up with one fund raising event to be held during the school year.
- Help create the student time sheet for garden maintenance.
- Grades K-2: Show up to support your fellow students during STAAR testing mornings. The goal is 10 members to show up per day.
- Design 3 posters for each of our PTA sponsored events.
- 75% of our student members surpass the point goal for the year.
What is your role as a Student PTA Member?

What are your responsibilities as a Student PTA Member?
- Attend 2 meetings a year (preferred but not required) - Dates : 9/15/2017, 11/3/2017, 1/12/2018, 4/13/2018
- Help making posters
- Attend school PTA events
- Help out with the McCall Garden
- Attend a Spirit Night
- Help with the McCall Book Fair (Fall or Spring)
- Assist with the Valentine Service project
- Help the team to reach the Student PTA Goals

Points & Rewards
We want to be able to reward those who actively participate throughout the year. We will be keeping a log sheet to track the progress of the kids. One of our student board members will be responsible for ensuring all points are accounted for. There will be prizes for grade level benchmarks! Each good act, and every event attended earns you points! The more points you collect, the closer you get to the prize!!!
What is the point scale?
Below is a list of categories in which points can be earned;
Parents : All activities are voluntary. You will be receiving emails throughout the year for opportunities for your child to earn points. Our goal is to make this fun and rewarding for the students, and give them opportunities to show that they are a responsible PTA member.

- PTA Helper when needed for various tasks - 5 points
- Garden Helper - 7 points for 30 minutes
- Event Helper (Setup/Cleanup) - 10 points
- Be a Student Board Member - 10 points

- During the school year we will be communicating mostly via emails. We are working to create a distribution list for all student members. If you are interested in being on the committee that will assist these young leaders, please reach out to Kelly Hopper at studentpta@mccallpta.org
- In our initial meeting and via email we will discuss other ways to show support, and earn points.
- Once all dates for events have been hammered out we will let you know.
