WHAT IS THE PTA?
The PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the United States. An organization of parents, teachers, students and other citizens active in their schools and communities, the PTA is a leader in reminding our nation of its obligations to children. Nearly 6.5 million people belong to this nonprofit, noncommercial, nonsectarian and nonpartisan organization. The National PTA advocates before decision-makers for children's rights to better health, education and well-being, working closely with other national education and health agencies and organizations. It provides current information and offers programs, guidance, publications and training to state and local PTA groups in developing family-centered programs and encouraging parental involvement in all areas of a child's life.
WHAT DOES THE MCCALL PTA DO?
The McCall PTA is here for one reason - to help our kids! The McCall PTA raises money through PTA dues and various funraisers throughout the year. Here are just some examples on how the money raised by McCall PTA has been used:
• Providing parenting seminars throughout the year
• Sponsoring family events such as multicultural night and carnivals
• Sponsoring educational assemblies
• Sponsoring field trips and educational projects
• Sponsoring class parties - Holiday, Valentines, End-of-Year
• Donating books to McCall library earned from book fair
• Publishing a monthly newsletter
• Publishing a yearbook
• Sponsoring "Reflections" art program
• Providing additional funding for Art, PE, and Music
WHAT CAN I DO?
Join the McCall PTA and Volunteer. The McCall PTA Membership form can be found on this website under the Forms link. Forms can be returned to either your child's teacher or the front office.
