The mission of the PISD Family Education and Guidance Services is to strengthen all families in the community by providing education, resources and services which support rearing responsible, self-confident, emotionally healthy children in today’s complex society.

Family and friends are invited to attend the 2nd grade program, “All You Need is Love”, coordinated by the Specials Team. Your child’s artistic, musical, and physical skills will be showcased in this exciting performance. Please come share this joyful and memorable time with your child!

Colts Caring for a Cause @ Valentine’s
Date: Friday, February 12th, 2016

McCall PTA is working with Operation Gratitude for our Valentine’s service project this year; a letter was sent home highlighting this organization. Along with candy & hygiene collection items, a written letter (or drawing) from Colts family to the troops are accepted starting February 1st at the front office or in collection boxes.

Valentines: Grades 1-5, please bring a box to collect your Valentines. Extra boxes are provided in the front office if needed.
Volunteer: We need parents to help with setup, crafts, serve, and clean up. Sign Up at the links below.

(Items may be dropped off in the front office the day before or on the day of by 11 am. See the following for information on allergy sensitivities.)

​Note: There are a few students who have severe food allergies, such as to peanuts (and other nut products), eggs, and milk among other things. We are distributing this information to help you understand the situation and to help foster a safe, worry free semester for these students and his/her parents. If you bring any items into the classroom with any of these ingredients, please be sure that the products have a label on them. This will allow our students with any allergy sensitivity issues to make good choices on party day. The students’ allergies can be life threatening and the student may carry an EPI-Pen at all times. We thank you in advance for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all of our students. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Nurse Mendoza or Ms. Kimbriel.

Giving back is at the core of what our PTA stands for.  For the past few years we have been working with individual grade levels to try out our service projects during the Valentine time frame. We are ready to go school-wide this year! The theme for the Valentine party is “Colts Caring for a Cause”.  We are proud to be partnering with Operation Gratitude for our service project. Operation Gratitude is an organization that, since 2003, has assembled and shipped over 1 million packages individually addressed to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines deployed overseas in harm’s way.

Our students will be collecting items for care packages as well as writing letters to troops. Donations and letters will be accepted beginning February 1st in the front office or collections bins. See this brochure for help writing your letter.

Collection bins for donations will be in the front office of the school and outside the library beginning February 1st. Please join us in expressing our gratitude to service members, veterans, and first responders.

This year the PTA is very excited to have opened a Spirit Store for the students. The store is open before school every other Friday inside the main entrance/lobby of school.

• We are looking for 2 volunteers on those Fridays to assist her with set up, fulfilling student purchases and clean up.
• Shift starts at 6:55 am and ends at 8:00 am.

Friendship Week @ McCall - February 9th-12th, 2016

During Friendship Week, students will reflect on the true meaning of friends. They will identify the positive character traits needed for being a good friend.

Monday: Friendship ties you together! - Wear a cool tie to school!
Tuesday: Slip into a great friendship! - Wear different shoes or crazy socks to show appreciation of your special friendships!
Wednesday: Friends know you from the inside-out! - Wear your shirts inside-out!
Thursday: Show how through our differences we build lasting friendships. - Mix it up a little by wearing unmatched clothes.
Friday: McCall is full of friends! - Dress in McCall Spirit to show your Colt pride!

Friendship Week- Anti-bullying Rally with Dallas Cowboys mascot Rowdy!

We are celebrating friendships this week with a an exciting program from our own Dallas Cowboys mascot- Rowdy!  Age appropriate Anti-bullying messages, interactive activities to reinforce positive communications, value/importance of friendship and standing up for yourself. Parents are welcome to come and see the fun!!!
