This is the time of year when we all pitch in to make our school fundraisers successful. We depend on these to provide funds necessary to continue offering the best educational opportunities for our students. Every penny we raise is important and will go to benefit the kids at our school for projects and activities. Things such as books, magazines, furniture, classroom paper, smart boards and field trip scholarships are examples of items we’ve purchased in the past from dollars raised in our fundraising programs.
This year we have a new and unique opportunity. Over the summer, a weather data and analytics company, Understory, installed a weather station on the roof of our school. They provide the data from this weather station to our students free of charge. They are also offering an amazing fundraiser opportunity for our school. Understory has an app called Shine Weather, a FREE weather app for iPhones that is powered by the data from the weather station at OUR school. Shine Weather gives you hyper-local weather forecasts and alerts.
Understory will provide us $1 for each unique download of their app between March 1, 2017 and March 31, 2017 up to $1000. There’s no keeping track of orders or money collected and there’s no pickup and deliveries necessary. You don’t even need to leave your house. You simply need to download the app on your iPhone via the special link they provided to us (see attached sheet for details). If you don’t have an iPhone, no worries. Understory will be launching an Android version of their app in the future and you’ll have a chance to participate at that time.
