McCall’s “Walk to School Wednesday” is back!
Helping the McCall family make a difference one GREEN step at a time!

We encourage all families to consider walking or biking to school every Wednesday to help promote healthier living. What a great way to increase exercise and decrease air pollution! Let’s encourage a healthier lifestyle and a healthier environment, walk or bike to school every Wednesday! et a walking buddy…a friend, parent, or even ask a teacher! Ride the bus? No problem! We will meet you out back to walk a few laps around the recess court!
Walk With A Teacher
Teachers will be at the following corners at 7:15 am every Wednesday to walk to school with any students that want to join them!

Do you Shoparoo? Shoparoo Updates - October 2018

Do you Shoparoo? It is a fun and easy way to support your school and PTA! All you need is a few seconds to scan your grocery receipt to Shoparoo app on your phone! It is absolutely free to participate and only cost you a few seconds once in a while!

We are currently ONLY at 20860 points, which is about $40 for the school year 2018-2019.
We earned $362.19 (181093 points) in 2017-2018!!!

We earned $608.89 (304445 points) in 2016-2017!!!

We need your support!!! Every receipt counts toward points. The points add up to free money for McCall PTA to use towards programs for the kids. If you have non-grocery receipts, those are great also as they are counted as an entry ticket to a monthly drawing for a chance to win $1000 for our school!!! It is easy and fun to Participate:

Download the Shoparoo app and select to support McCall Elementary and select your student's grade

Istation Updates - October 2018

Istation updates from McCall staff :

Each nine-weeks, students’ names will be announced at the assembly that have completed 10, 20, 30 hours, and so on.
Each 10-hour group will get their picture taken by Mrs. Kapocsi so she can put them on the IStation bulletin board in the hallway every nine-week grading period.
Students will receive new and improved Istation magnets for each increment of 10 hours that they complete.
When students complete 20 hours, 40, hours, 60 hours, and so on, their names will be entered for prizes from the Istation store. One of the prizes is a bluetooth speaker.
Mrs. Kapocsi will disperse magnets, brag tags, and necklaces to the students.
In addition to completing increments of 20 hours, they will be given an “official” Istation brag tag to wear on their chain necklaces so they can proudly show everyone at school and in the community that they’ve been working hard to become better readers.
Each nine-week period, the teacher with the most Istation classroom hours will win either a “Leave at 3:00 Pass” or a “Free Blue Jeans Pass.” In addition to this, the teacher who wins will proudly display their Istation poster so everyone knows his/her class had the most hours in the whole school.
Teacher and student winners will have their picture posted in the PTA newsletter and Facebook.

Congratulations to our 1st group of McCall Colts achieving 10 hours or more of Istation this first 9-weeks !!! Keep up the good work!

Calling all father figures ! McCall Watch D.O.G.S. for 2018-2019 Sign Up

ATTENTION ALL FATHER FIGURES ! Want to spend the day at school and make a positive impact in the lives of the students? Sign up for Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students). In our volunteer program, you will spend the day with the students at McCall, assisting in class, playing games with the children, and providing a positive role model. This program is extremely popular with the students. They are all eager to spend time with the Watch D.O.G.S. What are you waiting for? Sign up today!

Reflections is a national PTA program that encourages millions of students to express themselves by giving positive recognition for their artistic efforts. Students in preschool through Grade 12 may create and submit works of art in 6 categories:

2018 McCall Color Run & Fall Festival - November 3rd, 2018

Dear McCall Elementary Parents,
We Need Your Support!

The McCall PTA is kicking off our largest fundraiser of the year and We Need You! As many of you know, the McCall PTA hosts programs throughout the year that benefit your children. We provide the funding for field trips, after school programs, school assemblies, classroom projects, classroom technology, and community building events as well as several other PTA programs throughout the year. The Fall Color Run is the primary source of funds for these items and today the students had an assembly that kicked off our Feelin’ Groovy Color Run!
We encourage you to visit 2018 Color Run & Fall Festival and be sure to register your student. Registration is free, super easy and only takes a few minutes. It will also help their grade win the Grade Participation Prize! Once you have set up their fundraising page, please take a few minutes to share their web page with friends or family and invite them to make a donation for your student!
During the next two weeks there are several opportunities for students to win prizes and recognition and we want EVERY student to be a Winner!
The Feelin’ Groovy Color Run and Fall Festival scheduled for Saturday, November 3rd. Last year we were able to raise over $15,000 and have a goal for this year to raise $18,000. As mentioned above, the funds raised during this event help us support the student’s field trips, after school programs, assemblies and more. The final day to turn in donations towards prizes is Tuesday, November 6th. However, your McCall PTA accepts donations throughout the year to help with programs.
