Thank you Jana for everything that you do. The McCall PTA appreciates you!

The Volunteer of the Month for January 2019 is Jana Glod! To learn more about Jana and why she chooses to volunteer, please read her responses to the questions below.
- How long have you been volunteering at McCall? II have been volunteering at McCall since the Fall of 2014 (before I had a student at McCall).
- Why did you start volunteering at McCall? I wanted to get to know more about the school and staff before my daughter started Kindergarten in the Fall of 2015. I met my neighbor Jeanne Wilmut who was on the McCall PTA and through conversation mentioned that my daughter was starting school at McCall and that I wanted to get to know the teachers, so I wanted to get involved when she started school. Jeanne encouraged me to get involved before my daughter started school so I joined her one evening for a PTA meeting to see what it was all about. I was very interested so, after that PTA meeting, I volunteered as the VP of Volunteers as well as Book Fair Chairperson.
- What is your favorite part of volunteering? My favorite part of volunteering is seeing the excitement on the children's faces when they walk into the library and see it all decorated for the book fair. I love seeing the kids get so excited about all the great books offered at the book fair, and the book fair is an awesome way to promote learning and reading to the students at McCall.
- What is your favorite way to volunteer (event, project, etc.)? My favorite way to volunteer is at the book fair. Ever since leading the book fair in the Fall of 2014, I have been the chairperson for every spring and fall book fair since that time. So, I am otherwise known as The Book Fair Lady.
