The McCall PTA is here for one reason - to help our kids!
McCall PTA raises money through PTA dues, donations, and various fundraisers throughout the year to sponsor many events and activities at McCall Elementary. We also lend a helping hand with many events, activities, and daily activities. From our workroom volunteers, room parents, field trip chaperones, and all of the generous volunteers who help run our events and fundraisers, McCall PTA relies on involved parents to bring the best educational experience to our children.
We love to sponsor field trips, bring great programs, and events to McCall, but we need your support to make it happen. As a non-profit organization, we need to raise funds to allow us to enjoy these great educational and exciting events.

Message from the President
Hello Colt Community!
As your PTA President again this year, I would like to welcome back returning students and families. I also want to extend a very heartfelt welcome to our new McCall families. To all of you, I look forward to making the upcoming 2016-2017 school year very productive and fun!
PTA is an organization that works for our children. We partner with our parents, teachers, staff and community on many levels to bring fun and educational programs, events, services and opportunities to our children to enrich their academic experience. “Every Child – One Voice” is the National PTA motto and the local PTA is one of the strongest voices in the in the educational process that directly supports our children and school.
An effective and successful PTA requires support and involvement of the parents of our students. Membership is vital and I encourage each of you to show your commitment by joining. Membership is open to parents, grandparents and outside family members as well. It has been said that the number one reason people do not join PTA is because no one asked ... so, we are asking!!! Join us and help us make this the best year yet!
The second way to show your support is to participate in the numerous exciting events and programs that we have planned throughout the year. You may choose to be a committee chair, committee member or volunteer. Whatever level of participation you choose, your time and involvement will be greatly appreciated. By joining and volunteering in PTA, there is no better way to get connected. Know what is happening at McCall, meet other parents and teachers, build rapport and share ideas and experiences. By volunteering, you are putting your skills, hobbies and interest to work. There are endless possibilities in ways you can help. Please consider volunteering, it really does make a difference in the lives of all our children! Learn more about joining the PTA and volunteering at Get Involved!.
Through our fundraising efforts last year, as well as support from families and our community, the McCall PTA was able to purchase 10 brand new iPads Air 2 with Apple Care and protective cases for the school, fund field trips as well as field day shirts for every student, school library and classroom library books, PE and fitness equipment and many other programs and materials for our students and teachers. You can visit 2015-2016 McCall PTA Accomplishments to see a full list of our 2015-2016 accomplishments.
Two very exciting projects the PTA is working on this upcoming year are the remodeling of our McCall Library and our McCall Garden. We will keep you up-to-date on our website, Facebook page, and through our newsletters.
I invite you to stay informed of our upcoming events as well as what is happening at the school by visiting our website often or following our Facebook page.
Here’s to a great 2016-2017!

Message from the Principal
Dear McCall Parent and/or Partner,
I often get the question, “Why should we join PTA?” Joining PTA is a step in the journey of supporting your child’s education McCall as a parent partner. Certainly, as a parent partner, we are looking for your support in the education of your child, but we need help in this for our community at large. Our McCall PTA is more than just a volunteering opportunity. Our McCall PTA is a vital support to the campus funds at McCall Elementary. The funding formula of our state and district are so complex, that there are many restrictions on funds that I have discretion over or the ability to raise on my own as a campus principal. Luckily, our strong PTA can step in and fill in gaps in our campus financing with their fundraising efforts, in partnership with our parents and immediate community, where every penny earned STAYS here on our campus to help OUR kids meet their goals. As an example, most recently, my budget was restricted with field trip funds. Our PTA has ensured for the last several years that our children have not gone without field trips that help them make connections to the learning in their classrooms. In the last year, our PTA has raised enough funds to start two big projects on campus: a garden and a renovation of our library to encompass a Learning Commons philosophy. Please consider school finance as an important reason to partner with us as a PTA member.
As far as volunteering, we could not do what we do with kids without the physical assistance of our parents and partners as volunteers in our school. Whether it is helping welcome parents at Kindergarten Round Up, assisting at a class party, chaperoning on a field trip, putting together Thursday folder packets or all of the above, your presence helps us continue to be present with your kids in other ways. While your own budget restrains keep you from making contributions to the PTA financially, your helping hands as a volunteer will always be welcomed. I ask that you think about ways you could give our kids and teachers a little bit of your time. PTA presents a lot of opportunities to give that time.
We want our parents to be our partners as we journey through the elementary years. I ask that you consider PTA memberships as one of the ways to partner with McCall Elementary. The children and I appreciate your consideration.
