The McCall PTA is here for one reason - to help our children!
McCall PTA raises money through PTA dues, donations, and various fundraisers throughout the year to sponsor many events and activities at McCall Elementary. We also lend a helping hand with many events, activities, and daily activities. From our workroom volunteers, room parents, field trip chaperones, and all of the generous volunteers who help run our events and fundraisers, McCall PTA relies on involved parents to bring the best educational experience to our children. We love to sponsor field trips, bring great programs, and events to McCall, but we need your support to make it happen. As a non-profit organization, we need to raise funds to allow us to enjoy these great educational and exciting events.

Message from the President![]() Hello McCall Colt Family and Friends!
Welcome back to all returning families and a Warm Welcome to our new Colts! I am looking forward to serving this great community as the PTA President for the 2019-2020 school year. I’m looking forward to working with this great group of parents, teachers/faculty and the entire Colt Community. The PTA is a membership based advocacy group. We partner with our families, teachers, staff and community on many levels to bring fun and educational programs, events, services, and opportunities to our children to enrich their academic experience. The National PTA motto is “Every Child-One Voice” with the mission “to make every child’s potential a reality.” With a strong PTA membership, we have a bigger VOICE for all the students. Membership is vital to the success of our PTA and I encourage all of you to show your commitment to McCall by joining. Membership is open everyone: Parents, teachers, grandparents, extended family and community members can all join. We often hear the reasons people do not join is because they do not have time to volunteer. You DO NOT have to volunteer to be a member. You can simply join the PTA and support McCall with your membership. Your membership dues will support our PTA programs and adding you to our membership count makes our VOICE stronger. By joining you will also receive our newsletters and can stay updated on our programs and activities. For those wanting to volunteer, there are many different ways to get involved. Examples include: attending the 3 general PTA meetings throughout the school year, providing input and feedback about programs and activities, volunteering for one hour at a specific event such as the Fall Festival or Book Fair, and/or join a committee that matches your interests and talents. We also have several PTA board and committee chair positions that are open to all PTA members. Whatever level of participation you choose, big or small, it will truly make a difference and be greatly appreciated! We also have a Student PTA that meets 4 times a year. Student members support McCall and the community through various activities such as garden work, assisting teachers and service projects for the McCall Community. Through our fundraising efforts we were able to purchase new "adult sized" chairs for McCall to use during events and programs, purchase iStation for the 2018-2019 school year, fund all field trips as well as field day t-shirts for every students, provide 5th grade camp T-shirts for each student and support several initiatives for all grades and departments...Thank you! I invite you to stay informed of our upcoming events as well as what is happening at the school by visiting our website, liking our Facebook page, following us on Twitter, and enjoying our periodic newsletter. Warm regards, Laura Gilham, 2019-2020 McCall PTA President July 2019 |
Message from the Principal![]() Dear McCall Parent and/or Partner,
I often get the question, “Why should we join PTA?” Joining PTA is a step in the journey of supporting your child’s education McCall as a parent partner. Certainly, as a parent partner, we are looking for your support in the education of your child, but we need help in this for our community at large. Our McCall PTA is more than just a volunteering opportunity. Our McCall PTA is a vital support to the campus funds at McCall Elementary. The funding formula of our state and district are so complex, that there are many restrictions on funds that I have discretion over or the ability to raise on my own as a campus principal. Luckily, our strong PTA can step in and fill in gaps in our campus financing with their fundraising efforts, in partnership with our parents and immediate community, where every penny earned STAYS here on our campus to help OUR kids meet their goals. As an example, most recently, my budget was restricted with field trip funds. Our PTA has ensured for the last several years that our children have not gone without field trips that help them make connections to the learning in their classrooms. In the last year, our PTA has raised enough funds to start two big projects on campus: a garden and a renovation of our library to encompass a Learning Commons philosophy. Please consider school finance as an important reason to partner with us as a PTA member. As far as volunteering, we could not do what we do with kids without the physical assistance of our parents and partners as volunteers in our school. Whether it is helping welcome parents at Kindergarten Round Up, assisting at a class party, chaperoning on a field trip, putting together Thursday folder packets or all of the above, your presence helps us continue to be present with your kids in other ways. While your own budget restrains keep you from making contributions to the PTA financially, your helping hands as a volunteer will always be welcomed. I ask that you think about ways you could give our kids and teachers a little bit of your time. PTA presents a lot of opportunities to give that time. We want our parents to be our partners as we journey through the elementary years. I ask that you consider PTA memberships as one of the ways to partner with McCall Elementary. The children and I appreciate your consideration. Warm Regards, Stacy Kimbriel, Principal August 2016 |
